About

That’s how it all started, really. A sad woman. Then I developed into a sad woman in spandex. After some ups and downs, I became a not so sad woman in spandex. And now I’m something even greater! I am a wife, mother, veterinarian, triathlete, and Ironman hopeful. Trying to balance work and life with a dash of depression is my challenge.

I have a great life.  The ups are good.  The downs are, well, not so good.  But I’m getting better at dealing with it all.  I have an incredible husband and a great kid.  We have fantastic friends and family.

Exercise really helps manage my depression, but I have a hard time doing anything unless I have a goal.  My current (completely insane) goal is Ironman Chattanooga, September 28, 2014.  Yes, that says 2014.  This year.

I started a blog to drag some other people along this muddy road with me.  Maybe even uplift others who are struggling too, if I’m lucky.  Join me?  Feel free to email or comment anytime!  (You don’t even have to wear spandex, but it’s a whole lot easier to swim, bike, and run if you do!)

Edit 2019 —

Spoiler alert: I am an Ironman. But I am still a woman fighting depression and trying by best to keep my sanity. And maybe fit into those spandex bike shorts now and then….
